Stash Tea Mulling Spice
Makes 12 servings
-1 gallon apple juice, cider, or red wine
-4 tbsp. Stash Mulling Spice
-Cinnamon Sticks (optional)
-1 sweet apple, sliced (optional)
Put the apple juice, spices (loosely in the pot or in an infuser) and sliced fruit into either a crockpot or stove top pot. Cover with a lid and heat until the juice is simmering.
If using a crockpot, turn the heat to low and keep cooking for at least an hour. The longer it steeps, the richer the juice becomes. For stove top cooking, keep the juice covered and simmer on low for at least an hour.
To serve, remove or strain out the spices, pour the juice into mugs and garnish with a cinnamon stick. You can eat the apple slices, or keep simmering until they become soft enough to mash into a spiced apple sauce.
